Dear members, CEDAR of the University of Cambridge started an initiative to evaluate ethics for the relation between science and food industry. The scientific group in Cambridge is going to approach also the Nutrition Societies for input. Thus, it could be that you are already been contacted. Otherwise, if you are interested to participate you might contact the organisors for being involved.

Dear friends, we did receive some responses to our request to submit names for the FENS-working group on Food Based Dietray Guidelines. However, it is the aim to have one name per member Society in order to have a good coverage of Europe and persons that bring the results of the Task-Force activities back to the member societies. Please, be so kind and give official response when you have identified the respresentative Person for this task force if not done yet. Below a further description about the purpose of the task force. Attached is the list of nominees as currently recorded.

Dear friends, we recently got the letter that FENS is now a registred stakeholder of EFSA. This will give us new possibilities to represent the Nutrition Societies in this EU Institution. We currently do not know the procedures how this role could be filled and how the decision process works. Also, FENS is now registered in the Transparency Register of the EU. We will have the possibilities of commenting upcoming EU initiatives. We keep you informed.

Most of you may have heared about this research program. JPI s are joint project s of national funders  and the EU. In the JPI “A healthy diet of a healthy life (http://www.healthydietforhealthylife.eu/), up to 14 national funding  organization are participating, depending on the respective call.

Dear friends, we recently got the letter that FENS is now a registred stakeholder of EFSA. You might remember some e-mails two months ago that asked for applications. I filled in the forms. One requirement was that FENS is also been registered(see documents) in the Transparency Register of the EU.
