Dear member society, with this newsletter we would like to draw your attention again to our first interim meeting of the general assembly organized in conjunction with our FENS workshop “Balkan Workshop on Dietary guidelines” on October 25th. This general assembly will not have a formal agenda for decision making (we have missed the deadline for an official invitation) but could be used to discuss with the national experts how to form a working group on improving the concept of food based dietary guidelines to be developed for the different countries. An overall scientifically based and modern (in terms of impact and communication) concept could help to generate or update such advices.
Therefore we l officially invite you to send delegates with this type of interest and/or knowledge to this meeting as observers and to the general assembly planned at the evening of the October 25th 2016. The general assembly with this central topic will perfectly extend the FENS workshop with the focus on recommendations and their scientific basis .
We have the following preliminary agenda planned for the general assembly (time 17:00 to 19:00); Probably we will use the room in which the workshop has taken place:
18:00 Registration of participants
18:05 Report from the FENS board members (Website, newsletter, finances, agenda of FENS board)
18:15 FENS session at IUNS (Food based dietary guidelines)
18:30 Discussion regarding a FENS working group on food based dietary guidelines including follow up of the workshop
(Topics, expertises, subgroups, time line, finances)
19:15 Decision making regarding the statutes of the working group
19:30 Closing of the meeting
