NUDGE-IT - AN EU FUNDED PROJECT INTO THE DETERMINANTS OF FOOD CHOICE
Nudge-it is an EU Framework 7-funded project examining the determinants of food choice. The project engages scientists from a broad range of disciplines from basic neurobiology to behavioural economics. The project will develop innovative tools that link understanding across these interacting disciplines. The project is co-ordinated by Professor Gareth Leng at the University of Edinburgh, School of Biomedical Sciences and also involves research groups across Universities in Utrecht, Wageningen, Tuebingen, Zurich, Gothenburg, Bristol and Copenhagen, as well as the School of Economics at the University of Edinburgh.
The aims of the project are to better understand decision-making in food choice, to build predictive models of food choice with strong explanatory power, and to contribute to an evidence base for improved public health policy.
